A lovely day Sewing

Yesterday I went to the sewing group I used to go to. I haven't been able to go since last year I think as it never works out with my work days. So this month I swapped days around so I could attend yesterday. Had a great day sewing, talking, laughing and eating!! It was so nice to chill out for a while.

3 of us have signed up for The Fat Quarter Shops Designer Mystery BOM so we made a start on that and got Block 1 completed. We are only 3 months behind now LOL

Shoulder verdict...

I saw the specialist today and got the results from the MRI and Xray I had done on my right shoulder. It appears there is a rough patch on one of my shoulder bones as well as boney sticky out bit (LOL) on another bone. These are causing the tendons to inflame when they move over the bone. There is calcification of the tendons and inflammation.
Sooo, today I had a cortisone injection(OUCH!). In 6 weeks time we will see if it has had any effect. If not I will need to have keyhole surgery to smooth out these bones and remove the calcification. Even if i don't have the surgery now, I will eventually have to have it. This injection is just a bandaid solution to delay surgery.
Surgery will mean 6 weeks in a sling and no driving and preferably no work. Then 3-6 months recover if all goes well.
Too much down time for this working woman! But if it has to be done then it has to be done, just need to accrue more sick leave LOL

Surprise... surprise...

I did some sewing yesterday!!! Yeah!!

I finished 2 bags, one for me and one for a swap in our yahoo group.

Here is a pic of my one, will show the other one when it arrives at its destination....and No Khris, yours is not the same as this one LOL....you will just have to wait and see!!!!

Spring has sprung!

Yesterday was the first day of spring and what a gorgeous day it was! The air was warmer and htere wasn't a cloud in the sky. Today is equally as lovely. Unfortunately I have no photos to prove this LOL

For those of you who have been wondering where I have been and for those of you who know I have a problem with my shoulder, here is an update.
I have been getting more and more pain and restriction in my shoulder so last Monday I went for an ultrasound which showed 2 torn tendons and more calcification. I managed to get an appt with the specialist last Friday who wants me to have an MRI. So after a bit of phoning around I can have one on 16th Sept instead of the original 7th October. Being a doctor's secretary does have some benefits LOL
Unfortunately being on the computer gives me a lot of pain so my computer time is limited at the moment. The best thing about the injury is that I am not supposed to do any washing, ironing, sweeping, mopping or vacuuming !!!!!
I have also just realised that I am almost at 1oo posts so I shall have to have a bit of a think about a giveaway.
