Australia Day Holiday

The Australia Day holiday continues! As Australia Day fell on a Saturday this year we were given today as a holiday as well.
Craig had to work (double time pay LOL) so the boys and I headed off to the Hawkesbury River where our friends were water skiing and wake boarding.

We had a lovely afternoon there, weather was warm, gorgeous big old tree to sit under, friends -what more could you want!!

Nathan tried knee boarding but popped his shoulder out hanging on! It has been put back in but it is still a bit sore, will have to take him to the docs tomorrow.

I only took these pics, not very good but they are pics nonetheless LOL.

Mystery Block Revealed!!

I have just finished the first block of the NYE Mystery Quilt!! I really like it, almost finished, just got to cut out and sew on the sashing.

Goodies received

I forgot to post these pics at Christmas time, Oh well, better late than never!

This bundle of goodies is from an Advent swap in the C-R-A-F-T yahoo group. We each had a partner and had to send 24 little gifts and 1 bigger gift to be opened 1 each day from the 1st December. This is the stash of goodies I received from Marg, minus the lollies that I ate LOL

The lollies in the tray are not part of the swap, they were just on the table lol

This next pic is of the vintage style apron and magazine I received in the blogland Secret Santa Swap. This came from Paula in the US - thanks Paula!!

The following pic is of a slice that I made for our Christmas indulgence LOL. It is a choc malt brownie slice from a recipe given by Lissa. It was very sweet but very nice !!!!

NYE Mystery Quilt

I decided to do a mystery quilt from one of my Yahoo groups. It was supposed to be done on New Years Eve but that was US time so was New Years Day here and I went to the beach instead!! LOL

So anyway I thought I would still do it.

So here is my progress up to now. I only have 2 days left before I go back to work, I will get this done, but probably nothing else I planned on doing. Gee 2 weeks went quick!!! LOL

PAY IT FORWARD

I have not had any takers for the Pay It Forward exchange!! Come on , please sign up, don't be shy !! If no one signs up I will feel bad about accepting a gift from Tracey LOl
If you want to join in the fun, see my post on Saturday 1st December.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

For New years Eve, the boys were both out, so when Craig came home from work we went to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner. We had some delicious ribs!

Then we watched the Nicholas Cage move, World Trade Centre. I really enjoyed it, not what I thought it would be like, which was a good thing LOL

We watched the fireworks on Sydney Harbour on TV, then off to bed. The fireworks were going off all around our neighbourhood, even when I woke in the morning I could still hear them!!

Craig & I spent New Years Day at Shellharbour Beach. The seas were a bit rough due to the storms up in Queensland so we just went in the beach pool. It was a lovely warm day and today I am a little bit sunburnt on my arms and knees LOL

Here are some pics of our day:

These next few pics are of a place called Minamurra, such a gorgeous spot, one we have never been to before. It has this lovely inlet from the ocean where you can boat, canoe, snorkel or swim. It is a bit further away but our next day we have to head to the beach we are going to go here and Craig is going to teach me to snorkel.

I love the beach but I like to swim in still water rather than the pounding surf!

Some Quilty news...

Well I have spent the b est part of 3 days cutting out fabric!! I decided that as I am off work for 2 weeks I am going to sew some things for myself. So, with the last week looming ahead, I cut out fabric for 2 quilts. I have also started cutting out strips for Bonnies Mystery Quilt. I will start this when I can, but most people are up to Stage 4 or 5 LOL
I am planning on sewing this afternoon, when I can get off this computer LOL

Christmas

Well Christmas has been and gone and was a bit of a low key affair in our household this year. Criag had to work over Christmas so we spent Christmas morning and he went off to work after lunch. The boys and I rented a whole load of DVD's and spent the afternoon & evening in front of the TV!
Boxing day Tim headed off on holidays with his friends for 5 days and my parents came over for a yummy hot turkey lunch, before Craig went off to work again. We spent the afternoon, lazing around.
It was really quite relaxing after such a stressful year, to sit and do nothing and not have any commitments.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!
