Train trip to Bowral

The other day Craig had an appointment in Bowral in the Southern Highlands. Lovely place to visit, but very very very cold in winter LOL. And to top it off it was raining! But we had to go so off we went! We decided to go by train as Craig gets free travel so my ticket was cheaper than the petrol. I have never been on a country train so it was a bit of adventure - all1hr 10 mins of the trip LOL

So Craig got his hearing aids adjusted, we had a lovely lunch and a quick look in some shops. Was a nice relaxing day, even if we were frozen LOL. I think the top temp in Bowral that day was 5degrees.

Finally some sewing!

Today I had a quiet house to myself for a few hours so I caught up on a few things.

I made these 2 charity blocks for Quilts for Comfort, a wonderful idea of making quilts for siblings of children with illnesses. Often these children are overlooked as a lot of attention goes into the sick child so this is something to make them feel a bit special.

I also traced some stitcheries for some gifts

And I came across some Friendship star blocks from a yahoo group swap and thought I would tackle those and put them together for a quilt top but there was so many varying sizes (they were supposed to be 12.5") that I decided it was all too hard and put them back into the paper bag!!

Need to do some more on Khris's bag but I have to pick up Craig soon. Hmmm, those hours went too quick!!

BRRRRRR...

Here are some pics of the lovely layer of ice we had this morning. And yes I was up early enough on a Saturday to see it LOL. Someone had to get up at 7am and take Craig to the station!!

The ice was so thick we had to scrape it off the windows, the hosing down didn't get rid of it!!

I should have take some pics of the fields out the back, looked like it had snowed!!

The Gift

This week I received my copy of Rosalie Quinlan's new book "Gift". It is absolutely gorgeous!! Rosie you have done a fantastic job.

Here is a pic of it with my cushion front from the book that I started at Nundle. The Nundle girls will see that I have done no more stitching on it since Nundle LOL. My excuse was I didn't have the right coloured threads but as you can see from the picture, I have the threads now so there is no excuse!!

With the book Kerrie also sent the pink dot fabric which is the finishing fabric for the cushion borders and back.

Just hanging around....

No, I haven't dropped off the face of the earth LOL, I am still here just taking 1 step forward then 2 steps back LOL, well that's what it feels like.

I have been doing a little bit of sewing, but can't show you yet as it is for a swap.

Have also been doing some stitching on my BOM as well.

Oh, for those of you who read about my BOM woes, I received June instalment on time and without me having to chase it up!! Hopefully it is back on track now.
