Goodies from the show

Kate (the enabler!) made me buy this quilt kit.....she really had to twist my arm....NOT!!! She pointed it out to me and I fell in love with it too!!

I bought a couple of books - this gorgeous Red Home book from Natalie Bird...

as well as Anni's new book, but mum has borrowed that already! so it missed out on a pic. I bought the wallhanging kits from both of these books and also the pincushion kit from the Red Home book.
Another French General charm pack - Petite Odile - one can never have enough French General.....as you can see by the few FQ's i bought!

And this gorgeous stitchery and frame from Anni's stand...........and some linen thread. not sure where I got that from but was told it was good for stitching the fabric to the purse frames.

Oh and here is the kit again with some other patterns, I really like these Cluck Cluck Sew patterns.

This gorgeous Cuzco by Kate Spain layer cake which came with a free pattern from Busy Thimbles

And last but not least...2 very lovely books.

Not as much as I have bought in previous years but it still adds up to quite a bit of $$ LOL

Sydney Quilt Show

I'm sure most have you have probably seen lots of photos on other blogs about the great time we all had the quilt show,.....unfortunately I on took 2 photos which weren't very good.....so I have pinched a few photos. It was great to have the bloggers meet up at lunch time with over 30 other bloggers from all over the country.

Some special friends...

The highlight of the day for me was to give 2 very special quilts to a very special friend of mine....
It was great to catch up with many people that we don't get to see very often and to meet more wonderful bloggers!
We also had a dinner that night which was a lot of fun, and it was lovely to sit and get to know some people a bit better.

some poor ladies were trying to take some serious pics of their group and these 2 inconsiderate people just jumped in front of the camera!!! LOL

More pics to come of what I bought!!!

Holiday!! - warning - long and lots of pics!!

a couple of weeks ago Craig & I headed off for 10 days for a much needed break. First we headed up through Armidale, freezing!! well I thought Armidale was cold until we drove through Guyra on the way north - absolutely icy!! one of the locals said it is colder in winter LOL
We haven't been there since our kids were very young and it was nice to revisit this lovely town again, there are some great little shops there for a browse around.

The motel we stayed in had a family of deer in a field at the back ....very novel!

We then headed up to Toowoomba, a first for us, we both quite liked this very large town.
We headed just out of town to a place called Highfields where we met up with my very good friends Khris & Amanda. Khris's hubby Glen joined us as well as he was not long back from military duty in the Middle East. Craig & Glen sat and chatted in the sun while us girls hit the lovely quilt shop - Quilters Angel - and the gift shops.

After a few hours of chatting and catching up and a very yummy lunch, we farewelled our friends (until October girls!!) and headed across to the coast to Alexander Headland on the sunshine coast.

We spent a week here in a nice apartment across the road from the beach. The weather was all over the place, warm, sunny, cold, raining............but we made the most of it and had a nice relaxing break.

While we were there Lynda & Kayly came up one day from Brisbane and took me out quilt shop shopping and lunch. It was great to catch up with more friends!!

When we left QLD we headed down the coast road to Coffs Harbour where the weather was absolutely atrocious!! But the highlight of the stopover was dinner with more great friends Suzie & Dawnie!! Suzie opened up her home to us and invited us for dinner, it was a lovely night to sit and chat and make new friends, well new for the men LOL

Well that was our break, back to reality LOL
But of course I couldn't do a holiday post without some food!!! LOL

In case you hadn't heard....

In the Tumbalong park grassed area just out the front of the Exhibition Centre, if raining in the foyer. Just look for a rather noisy group of women all taking photos like the paparazzi LOL
