Lovely day in the Blue Mountains

Yesterday Craig & I had a day out to the Blue Mountains which start about half an hour from our place. We drove to Katoomba which is one of the highest points up in the mountains ( I think!) and had lunch there. Katoomba is a really old town but is very popular with the tourists. Many people go to Katoomba for the weekend from the city. It is very cold there in winter and often snows there in winter. It was quite cold up there yesterday too! We had lunch in a cafe that we have always wanted to go to as it has kept a lot of it's original art deco from the 1920's.We had a lovely lunch of chicken pot pies with mashed potato and mushy peas!!! It was very nice but don't think we will go there again as it was quite expensive.

We then took a drive to a look out of the Grose Valley, a place we have never been before. It was drizzling a bit there and was freezing!!!

After this we drove back down the mountains a bit and took a 20klm 4wd track to a lookout over the Water Catchment Area. It was then an 800m walk to the lookout, the weather had cleared up a bit now. It was very refreshing to breathe the fresh mountain air!!!!
