Extended Family

I don't have a big family and not a lot in Australia, so it was lovely on Saturday to have most of my family together, all but Nathan & my cousin Andrew. It was a very hot and muggy day in Sydney and we had some rain but we were able to have a break in the rain to eat outside but spent the rest of the day inside with the aircon on!

Shenee got to open her present from Nanny - a Janome!!

Graham reading about his favourite subject - money & real estate LOL
Of course Lachlan enjoyed the Wii!

Better late then never!

Not much happening here, am on holidays from work for 2 weeks over Christmas, unfortunately I go back this week on Thursday. But it has been a nice relaxing break, Craig has been working most days over Christmas so have had a fair bit of me time! No sewing though, just can't get myself back into that yet! But it has been a good chance to catch up on those chores that don't get done when you are working.........like cleaning the oven and cleaning out kitchen cupboards.
Christmas was pretty quiet again here this year, poor Craig had to work again, so just just me & the boys and mum & dad came over. Had a lovely day together, and played around on the Wii! Craig & the boys bought me a Wii fit for Christmas, which i have used a couple of times so far!

Here we are with the toys from the Bon Bons....mum scored well - she got a tape measure!!

(Please ignore our oddly painted wall in the above pics but we have had some plaster work done and have been deciding on colours!)

Oh...the curtains!

Oh here are also some before and after shots of the curtains that I made for Colin the Coleman Camper. They were much darker than the old ones so kept a bit of light out in the early morning due to the fact that QLD does not have day light savings! They also look much nicer that those horrid 80's ones LOL

We're Back!!!

My three weeks holiday is over, sigh, and I was back to work today (unfortunately!). We had a lovely 2 weeks away and have had the last week at home catching up on things.
We had a fantastic holiday, visited some beautiful places. As you can imagine I have lots of photos so won't put them all on here, just a couple, and then will put up the links to my online albums if you want to see the rest of the pics.
From Sydney we headed up to South West Rocks just for a night, didn't want to drive too far on the first day as we haven't towed for a while so wanted to take it easy.
This is the view from our site there.

We then headed off to Byron Bay for 3 nights. We have only ever passed through here, once stopping for a swim, and have always said we wanted to come back here. Great place, great beaches, great food LOL. We couldn't believe how many people there were there, the Caravan park was full every night. We had a great site overlooking the surf beach so even though it got hot there, we had a lovely breeze all the time.

After then it was off to Noosa Heads in Queensland. We stayed in a lovely caravan park on the river. As you can see the water was absolutely gorgeous, such lovely colour and so clean and clear. Here again we had a sea breeze so it kept the temps down a bit

Here we spent a lot of time just relaxing by the water, swimming , reading and just lazing about. This was what we both needed! We did do a couple of trips, went on a day trip to Fraser Island.

That was such a great day, just amazing scenery. We also went to Australia Zoo. If you ever get a chance to go there, definitely go. I wasn't fussed on going (not being an animal person LOL) but Craig wanted to go. We had no idea what to expect and thought it might take half a day but we got there at 9.30 and left at 4.30!! It is the most amazing place, the nicest zoo I have ever been too. It is very interactive ( even I fed the elephant!) and so clean and every little detail has been planned out carefully. Of course the whole message of Conservation comes out as well as allowing people to enjoy the animals.

A trip to the local patchwork shop had to be squeezed in as well!! We won't mention that we got lost and it took us almost 2 hours trying to find this place!!! But it was worth it, of course LOL
We finally had to reluctantly say farewell to Noosa and head back to Moonee Beach, near Coffs Harbour in NSW. We treated ourselves to 3 nights there in a great cabin - was nice not to have to go for a trek to the toilet during the night!!http://picasaweb.google.com.au/craiganita/MooneeBeachCoffsHarbour#

Then it was back to a very hot Sydney outer suburbs with no sea breeze!! Definitely know where I would rather live LOL
